If not then you’ll need to go to the manufacturers website or if it’s a reference design done by Intel or NVidia or someone, search their site for corresponding drivers. Also, would using LILO solve this problem?

I have read in some places that there is a patch for this chipset, and possibly telling grub to not use power managment. Next, i remove GRUB, and just allow it to boot into windows restore the windows bootloader and boot into windows, with the drive back in the laptop, it works fine, just cant boot linux. I didnt quite get it to work, but im doing more reading on this, though. Having trouble installing a piece of hardware?
While I’m not entirely adverse to trying Xubuntu, Puppy Linux, et. No need to install a different distro to get rid of Gnome 3 or Unity.
