I have checked all connections. Basically what you want is to stop Windows 10 from automatically checking for driver updates. I know that probably Epson’s shitty installer is the problem, but I don’t really get why I can’t cancel Windows 10 automatic driver installation. Honestly, at this point I guess I have to contact Epson to see if they can somehow change the installer, since I already tried a lot of things on Windows 10 end. Epson Esc P Standard 2 V4 Class driver installation manager was reported as very satisfying by a large percentage of our reporters, so it is recommended to download and install. How satisfied are you with this response? Did you make any changes to the computer prior to this issue?

The driver from Epson is a Self-Extracting Winzip, so I tried extracting the contents to a folder and trying to ‘update’ the driver from the Device Manager browsing to the folder with the official drivers, but this didn’t work because it ends up saying that the printer is already using the latest driver but the generic one.

This setting used to be in that screenshot of yours, but Windows 10 neutered it and hidden it away in sec/p deep pockets of the group policy editor or registry edits. Or is there any other suggestion I can try? Again, thanks a lot! I did uninstall the printer from the Devices page, but for the Epson installer to continue, I need esf/p turn off and turn on the printer so it can be detected as new hardware being connected to the computer.
