I tried 3 different sticks of RAM in different sockets, same problem. Lets look at it. Of course if you do not eeluxe to boot from the array then you may install the drivers later if needed.

Everything works great — no problems. I thought the hard discs had packed up but after testing with a usb gadget I know they are still ok when plugged into an outside usb socket.

But thanks to this tutorial im now finally underway with installing winxpsp2 after 2 days of frustrtion! If the bios sees the drive but windows does not, that normally indicates the drive has not been partitioned and formatted. Guys I really need your help.

I have an a8v deluxe. Usually it requires reselecting 1st drive to maxtor and saving changes. One drive I boot from, the vontroller is just for data.

I had a asus p4p and it worked fine. Go back into the XP Install, hit F6, then S, and then insert the floppy, just choose the right driver it should be obvious.

[SOLVED] Sata Raid configuration on Asus A8V deluxe

This will allow you to use your RAID. Did you disable the Promise controller and try it like I suggested earlier????? The performance isn’t as good anyway so unless you need 3 or more SATA ports, avoid it.

Sata should work in win98se, right?

You will want to get the latest chipset and storage driver packages from the VIA siteinstead of using the older delluxe on the Asus site. Have you unplugged the drive and booted up in effect removing the drivethen shut down and rebotted the computer to see how the drive behaves?

Anyway I hope this will help you somewhat. I JUST got this thing purring smoothly – with your help: Have controllet tried a new ribbon cable? If either drive fails or becomes corrupt, you will more than likely lose everything on both.
